System Upgrade

Name Change: Welcome to Vlog Central

Well folks, Vloggercon is coming up and it's time for us to admit that they are called VLOGS not VBLOGS. We've been working on changing our name (and URLs) from vBlog Central to Vlog Central for some time, but as of today the vlogcentral.com URLs are the official ones.

System Upgraded

The system was upgraded today. Compatiblility with WordPress and the Roller Weblogger have been improved. The vBlog Client is now called the Vlog Client and has been improved. There have also been a handful of miscellaneous fixes and improvements. Enjoy!

Does Vlog Central require a WordPress plugin?

WordPress version 2.0 or later does not require a plug-in.

WordPress versions 1.5.2 and earlier require that the WordPress RSD Plugin be installed. It is a relatively simple plugin that is easy to install.

Vloggercon 2005 New York City

The first videoblogger conference is happening January 22nd, 2005 in New York City. I'll be there to learn from all the talented people who are creating the new medium of videoblogging. I'll be presenting an overview of vBlog Central in the tools session.

Recommended Motion JPEG Export Settings

This is a screenshot of the recommended QuickTime Export settings for Vlog Central when exporting from a DV (or other high-quality) editor. This "Movie Settings" dialog box is a standard part of QuickTime and can be found in iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and other applications that support QuickTime Export.
(Note: If your source audio is mono, it isn't necesary to use 2 channels in the audio settings.)

QuickTime Export How To

This Video How To shows using the QuickTime Export option of iMovie to create a Vlog Central "master movie" from a DV project (i.e. video from a Firewire-enabled Digital Video camcorder). The same export options are available in Final Cut Pro and in other video editors that support QuickTime Export.

I've just created a new Blog on Blogger, but the sign-up page tells me the Blog information is wrong. What do I do?

This has to do with the way Blogger handles default publishing. Blogger will not create the "empty" blog that our software is looking for when you first sign up. As a matter of fact Blogger will not publish anything until you first create a post.

As a work around, you can manually publish an empty Blog. Log into the Blogger interface, click on the "Posting" tab, then "Status", then click on the button to "Republish Entire Blog".
